Anglian Water seeks supply chain input on upcoming customer technology requirements in AMP8

Anglian Water has launched a Market Engagement Exercise seeking supply chain input to inform its upcoming customer technology requirements in AMP8.

ANGLIAN WATER LOVE EVERY DROP BANNER

The water company said it is exploring the definition of its future state customer technology capabilities in order to support the realisation of key strategic objectives across customer performance and operational excellence.

An internal strategic review by Anglian Water has identified the need to pursue a CRM capability strategy.

The utility said this will drive the consolidation of current customer technology solutions and the development of a single customer data model, which it sees as a key enabler to a transformational customer strategy.

Anglian Water is now seeking market participation to support the strategic review to determine its future state customer technology architecture - in particular from vendors of the following market available technologies:

  • CRM
  • Billing
  • Field Service Management
  • Meter Data Management capabilities

Anglian Water explained that the market engagement process is not intended to give a complete and thorough overview of its current technology landscape or future vision and emphasised that it was important to understand that there will not be a significant amount of detail provided at this stage.

The water company said it is looking to understand the broad capabilities in the market and its specific objectives are to:

  • Outline the vision and objectives of Anglian Water's requirements
  • Raise initial supplier awareness, engagement and to gather opinions
  • Refine the scope for future tender activities
  • Gain insight into the market possibilities and appetite
  • Prepare the market for the forthcoming procurement efforts

The insight gained will support Anglian Water’s internal data and technology strategy and potentially inform related procurement strategies. Estimated date of publication of a formal contract notice is currently the end of November 2024.

Time limit for receipt of expressions of interest and requests to participate in the market engagement exercise is 5 September 2024. Click here to access the Periodic Indicative Notice.
