Wessex Water awards multi-million pound AMP8 framework agreement for M&E Contractors (Minor Works)

Wessex Water has awarded a major multi-million pound AMP8 framework contract agreement for M&E Contractors (Minor Works).

The Framework Agreement is for suppliers to provide Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) minor works to support the delivery of the water company’s AMP8 capital investment programme.

The Framework Agreement was tendered in the following Lots to cater to the varied needs across the potable and waste-water infrastructure, including, new works, and refurbishments.

Lot 1. M&E Contractors - Minor Works

Requirements include:

  • M&E Equipment Lifecycle Management: Planned refurbishments, replacements, and enhancements to extend asset life and performance.
  • Mechanical Installations: Implementation of pipework, valves, and fittings to maintain and upgrade systems.
  • Electrical Infrastructure: Execution of electrical connections, cabling, and containment to ensure reliable operations.
  • Civil Engineering Works: Incidental minor civil works.
  • Pumping and Booster Station Upgrades: Comprehensive updates to sewage and water supply pumping stations, encompassing panels and equipment.
  • Environmental Monitoring Enhancements: Installation of new or improved systems for monitoring environmental parameters.
  • Process Equipment Services: Provision and repair of equipment, including specialist design considerations.
  • Commissioning and Automation: Services to ensure systems are functional, integrated, and automated for optimal operation.
  • Reactive Maintenance: Rapid response to M&E failures, minimising downtime and preserving service integrity.
  • Decommissioning Activities: Safe and compliant dismantling and removal of outdated M&E assets.

 

Lot 2. Small Electrical Works

Requirements include the repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical systems and components. Scope includes:

Repair and Installation:

  • Small control panels
  • Generator repair and maintenance

 

Renewal and Maintenance:

  • Renewing cable and cable management systems
  • Repair or renewal of lighting, electric heaters, and stop buttons
  • iSafe isolation, disconnection, and re-connection of electrical equipment

 

Testing and Rewiring:

  • Testing electrical systems for safety and efficiency
  • Rewiring of existing assets including buildings and temporary structures

Incidental Works:

Electrical tasks incidental to other works being undertaken by Wessex Water

 

Lot 3. Small Mechanical Works

Requirements include installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment. Scope includes:

Large Process Equipment:

  • Installation and repair of large skid-mounted pumps, blowers, compressors, motors, and screens
  • Installation and repair of motor, actuators, gearboxes, rollers, and submersible pumps

 

Generator Repair and Maintenance: Comprehensive maintenance and repair services for generators

Modification and Temporary Works:

  • Small modification work to existing assets such as pipework
  • Installation of temporary instrumentation and equipment as needed

 

Testing and Reinstallation:

  • Testing mechanical systems and components for performance
  • Removal and reinstallation of existing assets, including free-issued items by Wessex Water

 

Incidental Works: Mechanical tasks incidental to other works being undertaken by Wessex Water

The following companies have all been awarded a place on the framework, which will run for an initial five year term with a potential further three year extension option. No information has been made available with regard to estimated overall contract value.
