United Utilities has made a direct AMP8 contract award for a SaaS based source to contract procurement management system worth an estimated £927,150 (inc VAT).

The procurement covers the implementation and ongoing subscription of a SaaS based source to contract procurement management system.
Current estimated start and end dates for the contract are 1 August 2025 to 1 August 2030, with a potential further extension option to 1 August 2035. The contract may be extended by mutual agreement with costs for a further five years at an estimated £700,000 plus VAT plus inflationary increases.
The water company said the justification for the direct award to a single supplier – Atamis Ltd. - was based on technical reasons
Atamis is a leading supplier of flexible procurement software solutions aimed at saving procurement teams time and money, whether the focus is on procurement pipeline planning, contract & supplier management, tender management or an end-to-end system.
Via a process conducted through one of United Utilities framework partners it was identified that the supplier was the only available supplier that can meet the utility’s technical needs for this solution in order to deliver United Utilities’ requirements for the AMP8 and AMP9 regulatory periods.
