United Utilities has awarded AMP8/9 framework contracts for reservoir works with an estimated total value of £205 million (ex VAT).

The framework was tendered in two separate Lots - Lot 1 had an estimated value of £80 million (ex VAT), while Lot 2 had an estimated value of £125 million (ex VAT) when the framework first went out to tender in November 2024.
The utility has appointed eight partners to carry out investigations, maintenance, repair and the replacement of assets across its 184 reservoirs – more than any water company in England which supply around 1.85 billion litres of drinking water to its customers on a daily basis.
The eight partners that have been chosen are

- Bethell Construction
- Bachy Soletanche
- Cleantech Civils
- JVT Construction
- Kier Integrated Services
- Stonbury.
Scope of works to be provided under each Lot includes:
Lot 1- Reservoir Improvements and Maintenance
- Confined space works – including maintenance, repair, replacement of reservoir assets
- Conduit maintenance
- Metal work/fabrication - design, maintenance, repair/replacement and servicing
- Valve tower access solution
- Valves – design, maintenance repair/replacement and servicing including hydraulic/electrical actuation
- General Civils
- Wavewall construction
- Debris barriers
- Granular Filter construction
- Drainage clearance, surveying, repairs and improvements
- Masonry repairs/pressure grouting/joining sealing
Lot 2 Specialist Reservoir Ground Improvements
- Slurry Trench
- Diaphragm Wall
- TAM Grouting
- Jet Grouting
- Secant and Contiguous Piles
- Rock and Ground Anchors
- Design capability for specialist geotechnical works
