Thames Water has gone out to tender with an AMP8 contract for sludge inspection services worth an estimated £1.2 million (inc VAT).

The tender covers the supply of sludge inspection and testing services, for a limited 12 month period, covering the collection and analysis of approximately 6000 samples, including:
- sample collection from a wide range of sites across the Thames Water estate
- full logistic support
- analysis of sludge samples
- reporting back on sample findings.
The water company is inviting interested suppliers to complete an online Registration of Interest form and provide their company name, company address (the contracting company entity) and contact details of two people from their organisation with whom Thames Water can correspond. Suppliers will be required to complete a pre-qualification Procurement Specific Questionnaire (PSQ) document.
Deadline for submission of enquiries about the tender is 5:00pm on 15 December 2025. Deadline for requests to participate, asking for access to the PSQ and submission of the completed PSQ is 10am on 22nd December
Current estimated start and end contract dates are 1 February 2026 to 1 February 2027 and the estimated award decision date is 1 February 2026
Suppliers' PSQ submissions will be scored and shortlisted in accordance with the criteria set out in the PSQ documentation. Suppliers that are shortlisted will be invited to submit a proposal in response to an Invitation Invitation To Negotiate (ITN).
After tenders have been submitted, evaluated, and negotiated, the successful supplier will be awarded according to the percentage weightings and criteria set out in the ITN Process document.
