Norfolk County Council (NCC) has awarded a contract for the provision of drainage, sewage, and water plant maintenance services with an estimated value of c £1.1 million (INC vat).

The Council went out to tender in August 2025 for a provider to carry out statutory compliance and the effective management of water treatment and sewage systems across its property portfolio. The tender had an initial estimated contract value of c £1.343 million (inc VAT).
The provider was requiredto have the expertise to deliver comprehensive maintenance, testing, certification, and reporting for sewage pump maintenance, water treatment, interceptor pumps, and liquid waste extraction services.
NCC also specified that the provider must demonstrate confidence in regulatory compliance and best practices, ensuring operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.
Estimated contract dates are 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029 with two possible annual extension options to 31 March 2031. The final estimated contract value covers the full 5 year term of the contract, assuming the extensions are granted.
Earliest date the contract will be signed is 1 March 2026.
Simpsons (East Anglia) Ltd has been awarded the contract, one of eleven companies who tendered for the work. Turner & Townsend Cost Management Ltd carried out the evaluation of submitted pricing as part of the procurement.
