Severn Trent is seeking input from interested suppliers and looking for partners to develop a fast and safe to install base slab reinforcement for a range of liquid storage tanks.

The tanks can be either rectangular or circular and are to be constructed from Severn Trent designed modular pre-cast concrete panels which are much quicker to install than traditional offerings.
The water company says the design of the base slab reinforcements should focus on creating a small catalogue of optimised repeatable units that can be deployed to any size of tank without major modification to the design philosophy. The solution should focus on minimising installation time on site and reduce the amount of manual handling whilst ensuring the base slab and wall are correctly structurally tied together.
Estimated total value is currently £1.2 million including VAT and current estimated start and end contract dates are 31 March 2027 to 31 March 2030
Severn Trent is keen to engage with interested suppliers to help design and tailor a sourcing strategy and procurement process that meets its requirement but is also suitable to the widest group of suppliers.
The utility is asking interested suppliers to complete an online form and provide their contact detail, together with a questionnaire on a number technical questions, including:
- the core technical offering,
- whether services provided include structural engineering
- whether the supplier could integrate with project BIM requirements
- typical lead times for design, off site manufacture and installation.
