Anglian Water has awarded May Gurney a new £6m per annum sewer repair and maintenance framework covering the counties of Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.
Starting April 2013, the contract is for an initial term of two years to 2015, with annual extensions up to 2020. The contract also provides May Gurney with the opportunity to continue to work with Anglian Water towards AMP6.
The framework is expected to be worth in the region of £6m per annum and each year the scope of works will include: strengthening or replacing 600 gravity sewers, 150 rising mains, 35 anti-flooding valves (NRVs) and 75 sewer linings; replacing 3,500 manhole covers and frames; removing 325 interceptors; and 130 CCTV surveys.
Under the contract May Gurney will deal directly with Anglian Water customers to schedule works and then maintain dialogue with them until the works are complete.
Shaun Murphy, May Gurney framework manager for Anglian Water, commented:
“Our Anglian Water team has worked extremely hard to deliver an excellent service while at the same time doubling turnover on the contract since October 2012, as a result of the transfer of private services to utility companies.
“I believe this was a major contributory factor in Anglian Water’s decision to award us the contract for this catchment area.
“Our aim is to continue to deliver unrivalled customer service to ensure Anglian Water retains its top position in the SIM (Service Incentive Mechanism) performance table, which is OfWat’s measure of customer satisfaction.”
