Jacobs JV wins $73m Australian wastewater treatment plant contract

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has announced that TASK JV, a joint venture between its recent acquisition Sinclair Knight Merz and Thiess, have signed an alliance contract with Water Corporation of Western Australia to design, construct and commission the East Rockingham Wastewater Treatment Plant near Perth, Australia.

Under the terms of the contract, valued at approximately $73 million, the TASK JV is working in an integrated team with Water Corporation to deliver the greenfield project, which is being designed to meet future demand in Perth’s growing south-west corridor. The site of the East Rockingham WWTP is in an industrial area with an environmental buffer zone, and construction is expected to be completed by December 2015.

Sinclair Knight Merz recently completed a merger transaction and is now part of Jacobs, one of the world’s largest providers of technical professional and construction services.
