Amey wins £100m metering and developer services contracts with Severn Trent Water

Amey, one of the UK’s leading public and regulated services providers, has retained a metering contract and secured an extended developer services contract worth a combined £100m with Severn Trent Water.

Under the two contracts, Amey has retained its position as sole provider for Severn Trent Water’s meter installation repair and maintenance contract for a further three year period, with an option to extend for another three years.

Amey has also been appointed as the design and build partner to provide developer services for the next five years across Severn Trent Water’s entire network. It combines developer requisitions, new connections and meter installations undertaken at the time of connection. It will also see Amey design and construct water mains associated with new developments.

Mel Ewell, Chief Executive of Amey, said:

“We are delighted to remain as the sole provider of metering services to Severn Trent Water. Securing this and the additional developer services contract is testament to our collaborative working relationship and our track record of delivering high quality, efficient and reliable services for customers.”

Andy Smith, Water Services Director for Severn Trent Water commented:

“We’re delighted to be working with Amey on these contracts.  We seek to develop successful long term relationships with all of our supply chain partners and we’re pleased that we can continue to work together as ‘one team’ with Amey.

“The vision for the next five years is all about improving customer service and investing efficiently so that we continue to deliver the lowest bills in England and Wales for our customers.  We’re sure Amey will help us to achieve that.”

Amey - which acquired Enterprise in 2013 - has been working collaboratively with Severn Trent Water for nearly 20 years. With over 21,000 employees, Amey operates over 320 contracts, providing a range of services including utilities, highways, waste management, rail, justice solutions, social housing and facilities management. The company is owned by Ferrovial, one of the world’s leading infrastructure management and investment companies.
