Morrison Utility Services/ Galliford Try jv wins Southern Water AMP6 contract

Morrison Utility Services & Galliford Try joint venture (MGjv) has secured an AMP6  five year capital delivery contract with Southern Water valued at approximately £180 million.

Morrison Utility Services, the leading utility services provider in the UK, has been chosen to support the delivery of Southern Water’s water and wastewater capital delivery framework contract for the AMP6 regulatory period spanning 2015 to 2020, with a five-year extension option into AMP7 (2020 to 2025).

 The water and wastewater networks design and build contract, valued at up to £180 million over the initial five years, has been awarded through the Morrison Utility Services and Galliford Try joint venture known as MGjv.

MGjv has commenced Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and will work with Southern Water to prepare capital programmes and schemes in readiness for the construction activities during 2015 to 2020. AECOM consultants are supporting the venture in terms of design, programmes and solutions.

The networks infrastructure framework covers investment in water and wastewater assets across Southern Water’s region which comprises Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The assets include:

  • Raw and treated water supply and distribution pipework, service pipes, valves and meters
  • Wastewater sewer pipework, including sewer rehabilitation, as well as sewer outfalls, valves, penstocks and manholes
  • Mechanical and electrical plant and equipment
  • Instrumentation, control and automation equipment
