UK construction sector output falls again

The latest figures published by financial information services company Markit show that construction sector output fell again in November.

Xylem wins drinking water contract in Korea

Global water tech firm Xylem has won a major contract to treat municipal drinking water for a new high-tech industrial zone in Korea.

Scottish Water has started the procurement process for a contractor to design and build its proposed £100m 5km long sewer tunnel in Glasgow.

United Utilities has gone out to tender with a contract for construction of a new wastewater treatment plant at its existing Davyhulme treatment works – estimated value is between £123 million to £170 million, depending on the solution which is finally selected.

A consortium comprising Galliford Try Investments Ltd, Equitix Holdings Ltd, Kier Projects Investments Ltd and John Graham Holdings Ltd, has reached financial close on the South West Scotland hub initiative to deliver £600 million of public sector infrastructure projects over the next ten years.

 

Torbay Council, acting as the lead organisation on behalf of a group of Public Bodies in the South West region, has selected the eight firms for the south west consultants framework which will run till 2016.

United Utilities has appointed Black & Veatch to support its new Ecology Consultancy Services Framework.

Thames Water is launching a preliminary consultation with major tier 1 contractors to inviting them to put forward proposals for the procurement of the £4.1billion Thames Tideway Tunnel project.

AECOM has been awarded a multi-million-pound design-build contract by Galliford Costain Atkins (GCA), as part of the AMP5 £200 million extension to United Utilities’ Liverpool Wastewater Treatment Works.

 

Landia_Taj_1Landia has won an important order from major Indian water and wastewater treatment company Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited to supply 18 BioMover mixers for Moving Bed Biofilm Reactors (MBBR) in an advanced water treatment plant in Agra, home of the world famous Taj Mahal.
