Environment Agency plans to revoke fish farm abstraction licence

The Environment Agency is proposing to revoke a water abstraction licence held by a North Cornwall fish farm.

The Agency is required to give notice of the proposal to cancel the licence held by Mellingey Smokerie & Trout Farm at St Issey near Wadebridge. This allows the licence holder to abstract a total of 4,544 cubic metres (m3) of water a day, and a total of 315,360m3 a year, from the Mellingey Stream in St Issey, North Cornwall.

The Environment Agency said it has made the proposal as part of a programme to help restore sustainable abstraction.
