The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has announced the launch of an investigation into the anticipated acquisition by Severn Trent Plc (through its subsidiary Severn Trent Green Power Ltd) of Andigestion Ltd.

Severn Trent Green Power announced the acquisition of Andigestion Ltd, ackowledging that the deal was subject to clearance by the Competition and Markets Authority . Until then, ST Green Power and Andigestion have remained strictly as two separate companies.
The competition regulator is now considering whether:
it is (or may be) the case that this transaction, if carried into effect, will result in the creation of a relevant merger situation under the merger provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002
if so, whether the creation of that situation may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition within any market or markets in the United Kingdom for goods or services.
To assist it with this initial assessment, the CMA is inviting comments on the transaction from any interested party, in advance of the CMA’s formal investigation starting. Deadline to submit comments is 3 July 2023.
The comments should be sent to the following:
