United Utilities is starting the the third phase of a major scheme to improve water supplies across Cheshire.

United Utilities is about to start a multi-million pound deep clean of a maze of underground water mains running east to west across Lancashire.

United Utilities has published its final results for the year ended 31st March 2010. The company said it had delivered sound results in a challenging economic environment with an underlying operating profit of £756 million – an increase of 3% over last year.

United Utilities is pressing ahead with existing schemes under its AMP4 2005-2010 work programme.

United Utilities has revealed plans to divert more than 95 per cent of waste away from landfill by 2015.

United Utilities Group PLC has this morning issued a confident trading update for the year ending 31 March 2010.  The company will announce its full year results on 21 May 2010.

United Utilities is getting two major £400,000 flood defence projects under way. Both projects - valued at £600K and £400K respectively - are intended to prevent homes flooding with sewage during heavy rain.

 

United Utilities Water PLC have been fined £12,000 at Halton Magistrates’ Court for allowing untreated sewage to enter Springfield Brook, Warrington.

The Environment Agency has prosecuted United Utilities over a serious water pollution incident.

United Utilities Water PLC was fined £12,000 at Wigan Magistrates Court last week for allowing untreated sewage to enter the River Douglas, Wigan.  The company was also ordered to pay the Environment Agency’s costs of  £1,944.36.
