Southern Water is increasing its capacity to generate electricity from biogas with the installation of new combined heat and power (CHP) engines are at five of its treatment works.

Portsmouth Water has launched a new consultation asking its customers to help it determine how it will continue to ensure the information it provides on company performance is relevant, reliable, complete, accurate and timely.

Irish Water has welcomed the planning permission from Wicklow County Council for the construction of a new water treatment plant on the site of the existing plant at Vartry – the water company will invest up to €200 million in the upgrade.

Profits fall at Portsmouth Water

Profits have fallen at Portsmouth Water, according to its latest set of Unaudited Interim Accounts for the six months ended 30 September 2016.

Severn Trent Water is holding its latest public drop-in session today to give local residents in Newark the opportunity to learn more about their £60 million improvement plans.

Sutton and East Surrey Water is starting work on two separate schemes to secure water supplies costing a combined total of £1.2 million.

Retail market: new company applies for licence

Another new company has applied to water regulator Ofwat for a Water Supply Licence and Sewerage Licence.

Scottish Water is undertaking an upgrade of West Lothian’s essential drinking water network will see around 46km of pipes revamped – benefitting thousands of customers.

Welsh Water starts £9m Rhondda WTW upgrade

Welsh Water has started work on a £9 million pound investment scheme to ensure around 10,000 customers in the Rhondda Valleys continue to receive a top quality drinking water supply.
