Northern Ireland Water has appointed Jacobs UK Ltd as its consultant to help in the delivery of its Water Resource and Supply Resilience Plan (WR & SR Plan).
The WR & SR Plan is the long term planning document that brings together the areas traditionally covered by Water Resource Management Plans and Drought Plans. The new document will meet NI Waters legislative requirements set out in ‘The Water and Sewerage Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006', which is currently being revised to account for this new approach.
The new document will be produced on a 6 yearly cycle with this WR & SR Plan to be published by the 1st April 2017.
The outputs of the WR & SR Plan will also build on NI Water's other planning processes to provide the direction and investment it needs to take in the forthcoming price control periods. NI Water recognises that there is a complex relationship between many of its planning processes and that these intrinsically interrelate with one and other. The WR & SR Plan will be NI Water's key planning document for the strategic investment required in water resources and the trunk main system over the next 25 years.
The contract is worth between £600,0000 to £1 million.
