Northern Ireland Water has gone out to tender with a major contract for the supply, delivery, hire and maintenance of leakage equipment and ancillary equipment.
NI Water is procuring tracing and detection equipment under the tender to establish if there are leaks and if so, where they are located in the water distribution systems. The equipment will also be needed to to locate metal and plastic pipes underground, together with identifying the location of hazards such as underground cable.
All the equipment required, which is spilt into 14 Lots, is intended for and must be suitable for use in or close to potable water systems. Noise loggers, listening sticks, ground microphones, tracer gas detection equipment, metal detection and flow monitoring are among the wide range of equipment NI Water is looking to purchase. No information has been provided at this stage with regard to the overall value or duration of the contract.
