The Environment Agency has gone out to tender with a contract for its Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Operational Framework — North Hub worth an estimated £70 million.
The Agency is looking to appoint up to 13 suppliers to the five year framework agreement, which is divided into Lots.
Lot 1 covers small scale civil engineering and maintenance works, including culvert inspections and clearance, in four Environment Agency areas. Lot 2 covers routine maintenance, vegetation management and pest control.
Although the framework is primarily intended to meet the needs of the Environment Agency, successful bidders may also be required to provide the goods/services on the same terms agreed as a result of the tender to a range of other organisations, including the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and its associated bodies, local authorities in England and Wales, Internal Drainage Boards in England and Wales, the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and Natural Resources Wales., Forestry Commission Scotland, or Forestry Service Northern Ireland.
