Thames Water has gone out to tender with a contract for electronic surveillance and security systems contract worth an estimated £16 million-plus in total.
The water company is looking to award one or more Framework Agreements to suppliers capable of providing Electronic security systems (ESS) equipment and planned and reactive maintenance services.
Thames Water has various sites ranging from water treatment sites, sewage works, pumping stations to offices some of which are considered UK Critical National Infrastructure. The contract will involve new equipment investment, enhancing existing site systems and implementing new site systems through the rest of AMP6 and AMP7.
The framework would be for an initial period of 3 years with options to extend up to a maximum duration of 8 years.
The framework agreement, which has an estimated total value of £16.24 million, is being tendered in two Lots:
- Lot 1 - Design, supply and installation of ESS equipment, ancillary elements (£11 million)
- Lot 2 - Maintenance services (£5.24 million)
Thames intends to award multiple suppliers for Lot 1 who will be responsible for supplying ESS equipment with no guaranteed volume. Work packages will be awarded under the terms of the agreement via mini competitions either directly by Thames Water or one of its alliance partners.
Scope of Lot 2 covers the provision of after sales support/maintenance services of ESS equipment, including:
- spares
- wearing and consumable parts
- advice
- site survey
- re-calibration
- maintenance (planned and reactive)
