Northumbrian Water has gone out to tender with a cloud migration framework contract worth an estimated £4.6 million in total.
The utility is looking to appoint cloud migration partners to move their existing on-premise estate to Public Cloud. The transformed estate is referred to as the Future Mode of Operation (FMO).
Northumbrian Water has already appointed public cloud vendors (Microsoft Azure and Oracle Public Cloud) the water company now wants to set up a framework of 2 Migration Partners for Microsoft Azure and 3 Migration Partners for Oracle Public Cloud.
Northumbrian Water said it envisages cloud migration to be an incremental “wave” approach delivering early value, whilst being prepared to change along the way according to prevailing business benefits, technical complexities and new cloud features.
Suppliers interested in bidding are being invited to join a Webex on 3rd April 2019 where the NWL team will talk through the requirements for the tender.
Initial contract term is two years with a potential of two separate two year extension options.
The water company is looking to appoint up to five suppliers to the framework agreement.
