Northern Ireland Water has awarded a contract for potable and raw water, wastewater and trade effluent quality analysis with an estimated value of £7.2 million to Northumbrian Water.
NI Water are required under the Clean and Waste Water Regulations to provide timely and accredited results to its regulators, for compliance and operational purposes, including during major incidents. In addition to planned analysis to be carried out at regular intervals during the life of the contract there is also an ad hoc analysis requirement.
Scope of the contract covers:
- provision of ISO17025: 2017 and (where relevant) DWTS accredited analyses of non-operationally and operationally significant parameters in potable, raw, and interstage water, wastewater and trade effluent samples;
- reporting results of these analyses;
- supply of prepared sample bottles for the analyses required;
- delivery to, and collection of samples from, the client's laboratory sites.
The contract was tendered in two separate Lots:
Lot 1. - Non-Operationally Significant Parameters £2.97 million (inc VAT)
Start and end contract dates are 27 December 2025 to 26 December 2029 with a further possible extension to 26 December 2031
Lot 2 - Operationally Significant Parameters £4.23 million (inc VAT)
Start and end contract dates are 27 December 2025 to 26 December 2027 with a further possible extension option to 26 December 2031.
