Thames Water has awarded nine AMP6 control and automation services framework contracts with a total spend of circa £84 million over the 2015-20 investment period.
The contracts will support Thames Water’s AMP6 capital alliance eight2O , the operations team and other aspects of the water company’s capital programme. Thames Water said the frameworks reflect the principles of its new approach to supply chain management and focus on :
- A collaborative supplier community – Thames understands that a truly collaborative supplier community is the key to successful delivery of complex programmes. The utility has put significant emphasis on making the frameworks sustainable for all parties and establishing mechanisms for collaborative working.
- Innovation – Thames has selected the most innovative and market leading companies. The organisations are able to act as trusted partners to Thames and eight2O
- Totex approach – Thames Water's approach to asset management is focused on lowest whole life cost. The new agreements are sharply focused on achieving this goal
The frameworks, which are divided into two lots, are for the control and automation systems and services requirement for the whole of Thames Water.
Lot 1 covers Control and Automation Systems, including the manufacture and related systems integration of low voltage control systems, for example, motor control centres. The scope may include the design, manufacture, testing, supply, delivery, and commissioning of low voltage control systems. It t also covers stand alone design, systems integration and commissioning of control systems – described as 'pure' systems integation not involving the manufacture of hardware.
