ADBA is highlighting the critical role the UK anaerobic digestion industry can play in helping the government achieve its “net zero” greenhouse gases emissions by 2050. The central theme is of this year’s conference is There’s no Net Zero without Biogas – the conference will explore AD’s full potential to deliver against the UK’s climate targets.

According to the Association, the next 10 years are the most critical for the UK to act against the climate crisis - AD can be rolled out now to cut emissions in some of the hardest to decarbonise sectors of the economy.

The Committee on Climate Change the Committee on Climate Change (CCC), the government’s independent adviser, has identified biomethane as a low regret option in the transition to a Net Zero economy.

In addition to presentations and discussion by leading industry figures, delegates will hear more about the use of AD in specific sectors including farming, heating, transport, digestates, CO2 and end of life.

The conference will take place on 11 December 2019 at the Institution of Civil Engineers in Westminster, London - click here for more information
