Ofwat has granted Water 71 Ltd water and sewerage licences to provide services to companies and organisations in the retail water sector in England and Wales.
Water 71 Ltd applied to the regulator for the licences in January 2019 under the name of Amber Water Solutions Ltd.
Part of the amber energy group, Amber Water Solutions business plan for its application said it would package water retail services in a way best suited to its clients´ ever changing needs. Integral to this was the aim to be “pioneers in the build-to-rent market”, expanding its water division to offer a retail service to its current clients (both corporate and small and medium size businesses SME).
The amber energy website had previously referred to its water expertise, saying its specialist water consultants can help “squeeze efficiency from every last drop.” The website no longer specifically refers to the retail water sector market.
The original application said:
Its ambition is to become a leading water retailer and business solutions provider. It understands and appreciate the inherent link between Water and Energy across human exploitation pathways.”
Companies House subsequently issued confirmation on 21st May 2019 that Amber had changed its name to Water 71 Ltd.
