£22M-plus contract win for BW Water

Northern Ireland-based BW Water in Maghera has won a £22 million-plus contract from Northern Ireland Water Limited.
Lancashire -based Maxigiene Environmental Services have won a contract to supply Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council with Water Risk Assessments.
United Utilities, the largest listed water company in the UK, has signed a £30 million, five year deal with Cable &Wireless Worldwide to provide converged voice and data network services to its 300 UK sites including data centres, water works and two key contact centres.

Southern Water have awarded a contract for the supply of AMR meters, meter reading services and data hosting services to a company in Israel.

The Environment Agency has opened its £38 million Carlisle flood alleviation scheme, reducing flood risk to almost 3,500 homes and businesses.
Bedford Pumps have won a £3M-plus  Environment Agency contract to provide replacement storm pumps at Altmouth Pumping Station.
Scottish Water has awarded a contract to deliver £450m of work on its Capital Investment Programme from April 2010 onwards to the Thistle Water consortium – made up of Jacobs UK, Laing O’Rourke Infrastructure and Veolia Water UK .
Northern Ireland Water Limited has awarded a £7.5M contract for reservoir construction works  - Mid Antrim Storage Improvements to Belfast-based Farrans Construction. Farrans has worked with Northern Ireland Water on a variety of water and wastewater projects.
Joint venture partners, Morgan Sindall and Grontmij have secured a second AMP5 framework agreement, which could be worth an estimated £75 million from Yorkshire Water.
Newcastle Upon Tyne Swift Fire and Security Group PLC has won a framework contract to provide security equipment maintenance and installation services to Northumbrian Water.
